Managing Member & Co-Founder of Waterton

Mr. Vilim has been an advisor and principal in real estate investment since 1982. Prior to co-founding Waterton in 1995, Mr. Vilim was an Investment Officer with Berkshire Realty Company, Inc., responsible for Midwest acquisitions, dispositions and financings. Prior to joining Berkshire, Mr. Vilim was the Investment Officer for Amli Realty Co. where he was primarily responsible for developing and executing acquisition strategies for Amli’s institutional joint venture investment funds, including LincAm Properties, Ltd., a $25 million institutional joint venture with Lincoln National Life, Amli Southwest Residential Limited Partnership, a $40 million commitment from the Unisys Pension Trust, and Amli Foundation Partners, formed in 1990 with The Rockefeller Foundation. Mr. Vilim started his career as a Certified Public Accountant, working in the National Real Estate Tax Practice departments of both Coopers & Lybrand and Peat Marwick Mitchell.

Mr. Vilim holds a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and a Masters degree from DePaul University. Mr. Vilim is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council.
